What better gift than Irish traditional music? (The JRH in our name
stands for - what else? - jigs, reels, and hornpipes!)
At JRH Custom Music, Irish traditional musician/composer Bill Black will create an ORIGINAL, ONE OF A
KIND piece of
music for you. For example:
- A
lively jig for Aunt Nora's 90th birthday
- A lullaby for your
first grandchild
- A rousing clan march for
your son in the
Marine Corps
- A
courtly love song in traditional harp style for your parents'
golden anniversary
- A hornpipe in memory of a
deceased loved one
It can
be short or long, simple or complicated. The piece can be traditional
Irish or Scots in style.

Our prices will depend on the exact nature of the piece you request. As
a starting point the cost of an original 32-measure Irish dance
tune will be $75.00. (Price includes USA domestic postage.)
Once you have agreed to employ our
services,
the
piece is created. A draft will be submitted for your approval.
Once you're satisfied, you will receive the following (all
included in the base price):
- the notation for the piece
(which can be
printed out on a
scroll suitable for framing - click on sample below)
- a MIDI, MP3, or WAV sound
file
of the piece
(online and/or on CD)
- a letter confirming the
originality of the
piece
If you know what you want (type of
piece,
name of
piece, occasion or
individual involved), let us know and Bill will get to work.
Depending
on the requirement, you should have a draft of the finished product in
two weeks or less.
We promise special handling for rush orders (but it might cost a
little more!)
If you need help with some ideas, we will be happy to provide
recommendations.
